Republican backer Rush Limbaugh praised Angelina Jolie yesterday on his radio show, saying she makes more sense than the Democrats when it comes down to the issue of Iraq. Here’s a snippet of what Rush had to say about Angie:

“Everybody today is raving about a piece in the Washington Post by Angelina Jolie in which she just got back from Iraq. She says, ‘We have finally reached a point where humanitarian assistance, from us and others, can have an impact.’ Her point is to stay, help the Iraqis, especially those who are out of the country, want to come back home, the time is right now, and that the surge is working. Now, if you read the piece by Angelina Jolie today in the Washington Post, you will conclude that she is deeper and in ways more specific than Obama about this if you read the whole article. She makes more sense than Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama or anybody on the Democrat side about this. It’s stunning…”

After Angelina Jolie unveiled her latest baby bump (and thus confirming her pregnancy), rumors are now focusing on where she’s gonna have the baby. According to the Sun, Brangelina is planning to raise their latest kid in France. The couple have bought a chateau in the south of the said country after visiting the area last year. Brad and Angie are now planning on raising their growing family there, away from the limelight in Los Angeles. The couple actually lived in Paris while Angelina Jolie was still pregnant with Shiloh in early 2006. This prompted much speculation that she would be born in the city in honor of Marcheline Bertrand’s French heritage, Angie’s mom. However, as we all know, the Jolie-Pitts family moved to Namibia for Shiloh’s birth in May 2006. But according to reports, after the death of Marcheline in January last year, Angelina Jolie has become more of a Francophile. A source told the Sun:

“Angelina is proud of her French roots and wants her latest addition to be born and raised there.”

Hmmm.. Is this the reason why Brangelina‘s oldest son Maddox attended French school Lycee Francais schools in Prague and New York last year? To prepare him for their new home in France?? Stay tuned!

Asking celebrities to testify before Congress is hardly unusual. Many Hollywood figures routinely go to various committees looking for funding for their pet projects or to promote myriad causes. But this time, it’s the politico who asked the celebrity to come over. Virginia Rep. Thelma Drake has a new idea to maintain congressional support for the war in Iraq, and that’s to call in Angelina Jolie. Drake, a Norfolk Republican, is pushing to get the pregnant actress to testify to the House Armed Services Committee. Drake wrote in a letter to Rep. Ike Skelton, D-Mo., the committee chairman,

“Sadly, Ms. Jolie‘s positive perspective on the current security situation in Iraq has gone largely unnoticed by the mainstream press. Ms. Jolie‘s experience as a U.N. goodwill ambassador has given her the opportunity to travel to Iraq, speak with our military leadership and gain a ground-view understanding of how our long-term strategic objectives in Iraq and the region are met.”

After visiting Iraq to boost the moral of the US troops and to see firsthand the humanitarian crisis that grips the wartorn nation, Angelina Jolie now writes all about it. The “Wanted” actress authored an opinion editor piece for the respected Washington Post, entitled “Staying to Help in Iraq.” As the title may suggest, Angelina Jolie believes the US should stay in Iraq for humanitarian purposes (no pull out of troops). Here’s an excerpt:

It seems to me that now is the moment to address the humanitarian side of this situation. Without the right support, we could miss an opportunity to do some of the good we always stated we intended to do.
