It’s been an exciting award season for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie so far. They’ve graced multiple red carpets, mingled with friends at events, and appeared on stage during shows and we’re taking a look at it all. Just shoot me in the face now, because Angelina Jolie wore a shiny black (trash bag) sack dress to the Screen Actors Guild Awards, and I LOVED IT. The dress is Jenny Packham, and yes, this is a look we’ve seen on Angelina many times before. Initially, when I saw the dress, I thought it was leather, and it reminded me of the iconic black leather Versace gown she wore to the premiere of Mr. and Mrs. Smith in 2005. Of course, Angelina has worn variations on the black sack gown many times before, but that doesn’t mean I can’t still love the look on her, right?
This shiny gown is Jenny Packham, and it’s not leather. It’s some kind of treated fabric made to look like “liquid metal”. It’s an interesting treatment for a dress, and it suits Jolie. Plus, I like her styling here. Big hair (my favorite on her), big vintage jewelry – she wore “a bracelet and earrings by House of Lavande, a Platt Boutique bracelet, Gucci shoes and a Louis Vuitton bag.” Some of said that this is more of a premiere look for Jolie, and I don’t disagree. This is exactly the kind of thing she often wears to her own premieres. But for an awards show, does that mean this look is too “dressed down”? I don’t think so.
CB told me that she thought Angelina’s forehead looked Botoxy when Angelina was talking to Guiliana Rancic, but I had my Brangeloonie goggles on, so I missed that. I did think Brad looked a little bit… puffy/shiny? I suspect him of Botox more than her, but I’m speaking from my Jolie-specific girl-boner. Still, I was sad to see Brad lose the SAG award, but I think it might be a good sign that Jean Dujardin won and not George Clooney. It means Clooney doesn’t have this bitch sewn up, and the Best Actor race is still a contest. Which means Brad will have to campaign even harder. Brad and Angelina should just f–king elope. Stop talking about marriage, and just do it. All for the sake of the Oscar campaign.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were seated front and center for this evening’s Screen Actors Guild Awards show Sunday evening in LA. Angelina and Brad met up with George Clooney and Stacy Keibler on the red carpet, but once inside they had Jonah Hill on one side and Tilda Swinton on the other. Angelina and Tilda were spotted chatting throughout the show and of course they all paid respects to the winners, but most of the time the King and Queen of Hollywood only had eyes for each other. Alec Baldwin and The Artist winner Jean Dujardin both stopped by to say hello to Brad. The only time Angelina was left alone, though, was when Brad took the stage to present the outstanding performance by an ensemble in a movie award.

Award season saw another glamorous night with the Screen Actors Guild Awards in LA this evening. Stars from both the big and small screens brought even more great looks with plenty of ladies stepping out in neutrals. Presenter Zoe Saldana glowed in a white Givenchy Couture gown straight from the Paris runways while Bridesmaids‘ Kristen Wiig chose a Balenciaga halter. Viola Davis, who won best actress and best picture for The Help, got gorgeous in a strapless Marchesa and her winning costar Octavia Spencer donned Tadashi Shoji. The Good Wife‘s Julianna Margulies wore a custom beaded Calvin Klein Collection as she arrived on the arm of her husband Keith Lieberthal.
There were a few fun pops of color this evening, including a group that matched the carpet in red. Best actress nominee Michelle Williams looked sweet in a lace Valentino gown and Lanvin clutch and Kyra Sedgwick showed skin in a cutout Pucci that displayed her rib tattoo of her family’s initials. Modern Family‘s Sofia Vergara continued her sexy streak in a strapless pink Marchesa dress and Lorraine Schwartz jewels, which were front and center when she took the stage with her costars to accept the best TV comedy ensemble statue. Emily Blunt got bright in a green Oscar de la Renta next to husband John Krasinski, and The Help‘s Jessica Chastain went with a bold blue Calvin Klein.
Angelina Jolie led the pack of black looks in a slinky Jenny Packham gown and Ashlee Simpson followed suit in a sequin number by the same designer when she arrived with boyfriend and Boardwalk Empire nominee Vincent Piazza. Emma Stone mixed things up with a short McQueen and 30 Rock‘s Tina Fey went strapless in Versace. Melissa McCarthy, who was nominated for Bridesmaids, joined the dark-hued dresses in navy Badgley Mischka.
