Angelina Jolie wore a very chic all-black ensemble including a scoopneck top, flair-legged trousers and a hipster blazer. No, they’re not angry at each other — they’re just fighting for the Best Villain award at the 2008 MTV Movie Awards. Yup, the golden slippery Angelina Jolie and a dead-pale murderous Johnny Depp will finally meet and battle! The pregnant actress’ portrayal of Grendel’s mother in “Beowulf” has been nominated alongside Johnny’s take on demonic barber Sweeney Todd in the musical “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.” So who’s badder? I don’t know! But Angelina Jolie is definitely sexier! Hehe!
Their other competitors include Topher Grace, for his role as Venom in “Spider-Man 3”; Javier Bardem for his Academy Award-winning portrayal of an assassin “No Country for Old Men”; and Denzel Washington for his take on drug lord Frank Lucas in “American Gangster.” The 17th Annual MTV Movie Awards will be broadcast live Sunday, June 1, from the Gibson Amphitheater in Universal City, California. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were ranked No. 21 on TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People. And their good pal George Clooney wrote an article explaining how and why they were deserving of the honor. Here’s a snippet of the article:
“As a team, actors Brad Pitt, 44, and Angelina Jolie, 32, have served as our goodwill ambassadors worldwide. They brought help to Pakistan in 2005, after a catastrophic earthquake killed tens of thousands of people and left millions homeless. They have tended to the poor and sick in Africa. And they’ve raised global awareness—and contributed $1 million of their own money—for the victims of atrocities in Darfur. Brad co-founded Not on Our Watch, an organization set up to focus global attention on Darfur and other hot spots.
Angelina has worked tirelessly through the United Nations on behalf of refugees around the world, touring border camps in Africa, Asia and Latin America and lobbying on Capitol Hill. The couple cares for three adopted children, from Cambodia, Ethiopia and Vietnam, in addition to their biological daughter.”
Isn’t that cool?? But wait til you here this: the documentary was made by a student of the Films & Television Institute of India (FTII) during his second year! According to reports, 30-year old Saurav Dey trailed Angelina Jolie two years ago when she was filming “A Mighty Heart” in Pune and made his experience a documentary. The project entitled “Chasing Angelina Jolie” won Saurev an Indian Documentary Producers’ Association (IDPA) award held in Mumbai last Saturday. The film student said his project was not pre-planned but the idea of chasing Brangelina on their Indian sojourn clicked when he read about it in the newspapers. Recounting his experience he said,
“Made in English (with a smattering of Hindi in it), the film is about our steps in trying to get her. But we could not interact with her or Brad, at all. However, we made sure not to cross the ethical boundary during the making of the film. It’s a reality documentary showing everything that happened on our way. “
Saurav picked up scraps of information as best as he could from a couple of senior film directors as well as the journalists who were chasing the Hollywood hot shot couple. Terming it as a “fun documentary film” Saurav says he knew that it would be a hit with the youth but did not expect to receive an award for it. In fact, he was a tad skeptical about the manner in which his documentary would be received. Guess the judges love seeing Angelina Jolie, ergo the award! Hehe!
According to a British poll, the most seductive woman of all time has Halle Berry’s eyes, Jennifer Lopez’s nose, Kelly Brook’s hair and body, Angelina Jolie’s pout and wears Marilyn Monroe’s white dress (from the Seven Year Itch). And she’s none other than Angelle L’Brook! Yup, that’s her above =) She was created after the survey of more than 1,000 women for the fabric conditioner Lenor Infusions on who they find the most seductive. The women voted Marilyn Monroe the most seductive woman from the past, and Angelina Jolie the most seductive living woman.
But while British women thought that Hollywood stars were brimming with alluring attributes, they felt less confident about their own power to bewitch, the survey found. Lenor said the art of seduction in danger of being “lost” in Britain, because 49% said they did not feel seductive. Blaming their hectic lifestyles, 51% said they couldn’t remember the last time they felt in the mood for seduction, something they believed “mostly happens in the movies”. Tsk, poor Brits! Guess should follow Angelina Jolie’s lead and head on to adult shops

Coming in on Angelina Jolie’s heels was House MD star Jennier Morrison. Meanwhile, Jennifer Aniston, the woman Brad Pitt dumped for Angie, was named the third ‘Most Attractive Woman’. The usually reserved actress was smiling and waving enthusiastically at the crowd who watched her leave (with Brad Pitt) after the 2008 Independent’s Spirit Awards last February 23. It was there where Angelina Jolie unveiled her pregnancy bump. And according to the tabloids, the couple and their family are quite happy with the pregnancy. A source close to Brad and Angie has told People magazine that Brangelina are “thrilled to be adding to their brood.” Another insider adds, “They are very, very happy.” We are very happy too gurl!! =)
Despite rumors that Angelina Jolie was unhappy and surly during the said awards, pictures in this post disprove it. One person involved with the awards productions said,
“She made it tricky to film because every time the camera cut to her, she looked really surly. We kept cutting away quickly.”
One person seated near Angelina Jolie agrees that she didn’t seem happy to be there. “When Angie was pregnant with Shiloh, she was all giggles, it was such a nice change. Throughout the whole show, she just seemed irritated.” One person who did bring a smile to her face was Daniel Day Lewis. The source revealed,
“Every time he was around she light up.”
Oscars host Jon Stewart, in one of his many funny monologues, poked fun of the pregnant Angelina Jolie. He said during the Academy Awards night,
“Earlier, I mentioned there were two very famous quite pregnant actresses here tonight. Actually, I was incorrect. I’ve become aware that there’s a third. Jessica Alba is pregnant, Cate Blanchett is pregnant and Nicole Kidman is pregnant.”
Continuing his joke, Jon gave out an imaginary Oscar:
“The baby goes to…. (drumroll) Angelina Jolie! On my god, Angelina Jolie. I’m just stunned. It goes to Angelina Jolie! That’s terrific. Obviously Angelina couldn’t be with us tonight–it’s tough to get 17 babysitters on Oscars night. I’ll accept this baby on her behalf.”
