They are still unborn but Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s twins are receiving accolades already! According to reports, they are going to be named honorary citizens of Nice, France. The mayor of the town made this announcement after Angelina Jolie was admitted to the Lenval Hospital in Nice last week. Mayor Christian Estrosi told Reuters:

“That is for the citizens of Nice a very great honor and a great satisfaction. We are very happy for this choice of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt and I want to say to them that I wish a lot of joy to them and the babies, and great success for all of their lives.”

The good (and PR-loving?? LOL) mayor then added the cool news for Brangelina’s twins:

“All their lives they will be Nicois and all their life they will be able to come to Nice and we will receive them with great honor.”

The seaside hospital is now world-famous, thanks to Angelina Jolie for choosing it to give birth to her twins =) And to satisfy the curiosity of the people, here are more pics of Lenval Hospital. Its interiors (especially Angie’s maternity room) was featured in the post before this.

After all, all hospital rooms are identical, give or take a few details and whether how much it will cost =) Circulating in the internet right now are photos of Lenval Hospital where the pregnant Angelina Jolie was admitted recently for medical observation. Pink is the color of the maternity ward (Santa Maria) and maternity rooms of the seaside hospital. Papa Jolie-Pitt went about his husbandly duties and visited Mama Jolie-Pitt in Lenval hospital with their kids last Wednesday. Seen with Brad Pitt were Shiloh, Zahara and Maddox. The lil boy chose to stay in the car while the lil girls were carried by the hunky actor. Pax Thien was nowhere to be seen! In case you live under a rock, Angelina Jolie was admitted to the seaside hospital this week for medical observation. She has not yet given birth according to her obstetrician.

Despite being rumored to have been checking out posh Monaco hospitals (where she can give birth), the Wanted actress ultimately chose the Lenval hospital in Nice, France. The seafront hospital announced last Tuesday that Angelina Jolie had checked into its Santa Maria maternity clinic to be kept under doctors’ watch and rest. British actress Celia Imrie told Associated Press Television News that Angie “has chosen the most beautiful place in the world” to give birth.

The local newspaper, Nice Matin, reported that Angelina Jolie has the best room in the hospital, on the fifth floor with an unobstructed view over the Bay of Angels. WOW! Now that’s luxurious! =) It said that she arrived by helicopter, landing Sunday afternoon on the hospital’s roof, evading the lenses of the world’s paparazzi who have been looking over maternity wards across the French Riviera in recent weeks.

Veteran British celebrity publicist Max Clifford told APTN earlier this week that the first photos of the Jolie-Pitt twins could fetch millions for paparazzi. He said, “France has got very, very strict privacy laws, which gives them far greater chance of controlling everything and making sure no one gets some sneaky photos. But of course the stakes are high and this is probably going to be the most expensive set of baby pictures in history.”

Reports say she is in labor, about to give birth, has already given birth, etc, etc. But all these were denied by Angie’s obstetrician Dr. Michel Sussmann. Late today, the good doctor spoke at a brief news conference in Nice, where the pregnant actress is hospitalized. When asked when Angelina Jolie is expected to have her twins, Dr. Sussmann replied:

“I can’t give you a date. Let’s say the birth will happen in the weeks to come.”

The obstetrician also stressed that Angie checked into the hospital to be kept under observation, and not because of any medical emergency or because she has given birth. Dr. Sussmann explained,

“Mrs. Angelina Jolie and her husband, Mr. Brad Pitt, told me to tell you that she is doing absolutely fine. Her hospitalization at this stage in her pregnancy is totally normal for a patient who had a Caesarean (section) during her first pregnancy.“

Dr. Sussmann also said that four rooms of the hospital had been reserved for the Jolie-Pitt clan and their bodyguards. And that all he is revealing to the press has gotten an OK from Angie and Brad. Of course, he can’t reveal the twins’ sexes. Dr. Sussmann ends,

“I find it legitimate that she wants to protect her privacy. She is (a) pregnant woman. She is a patient like any other. She is very well and she is OK.”

Pretty soon you’ll have six kids all under the age of 8. Have you thought about how you’re physically going to be able to handle that?

Well, we weren’t expecting twins! So it did shock us, and we jumped to six quickly. But we like a challenge. We really don’t know. His mom and dad are on standby to come out and help. And fortunately we can hire help if we need it, but we’re going to try as we usually do to balance it as well as we can. The only thing for us when a new child comes home is just balancing the others. Our real focus now is: How do we make sure that the babies’ coming is not upsetting to other kids and makes them feel included. They’re old enough to feel included to change diapers themselves, to feed bottles themselves, like if I pump into a bottle. We’re trying to find ways where it can be a fun group thing. But the hard thing is every single day trying to find time for each of them privately. ‘Cause that’s our big thing. With our eldest, we have that last half an hour at night; Shiloh tends to be the first up in the morning. Everybody gets special time so we can make sure we know where they’re at.

What would be your ideal way to spend a free Saturday?

I have a lot of those. Very simple things. On weekends we usually have family sleep. We always have one night a week where everybody stays up late, watches a movie, and stays in our bed. We have, like, a slumber party.

Is there intense competition among the kids as to who sleeps where?

Yeah, but it’s funny: The boys tend to want to be near Mommy [Angelina Jolie] and the girls tend to want to be near Daddy [Brad Pitt]. So it works out nicely.

What did you make of all the brouhaha over Jack Black’s spilling that you were having twins on the Today show?

Poor Jack! Immediately when he saw Brad, he apologized. But we both told him very clearly that we had only waited because, as you do with any baby, but especially twins, you wait until all results are in on their health, and that we were past that point and if somebody had asked me directly, I would have said yes. So he didn’t do anything but take the heat himself.

And yes, they’re even doing it while she’s pregnant! LOL! Angie’s interview was done while she was checking out a window display of Corum watches at the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat in the south of France. Here are some delicious excerpts from Angie’s interview –

On people saying being pregnant is bad for one’s sex life: “No, I think it’s quite the opposite. It’s great for the sex life. It just makes you a lot more creative. So you have fun, and as a woman you’re just so round and full.”

What would you say are the best and worst things about being pregnant? “It’s all just so nice. You just really can’t complain about anything as long as you know the babies are looking healthy. The only thing that’s hard for me now is with twins and having four kids, there’s a lot of the doctor saying ”Stop picking them up as much.” But we’ve worked out a system where Brad just lifts them to me every time they want to come up. I just don’t bend down. I’ll scream, ”Honey!” and he’ll come running and lift them up. Or they climb on chairs, so it’s not as big of a lift. So we’re trying to follow doctor’s orders, but I’m bending them a tiny bit.”

You and Brad aren’t married. How do you refer to each other? “We have that problem all the time. I say ”partner” sometimes. ”Father of my children” is too long. But half the time people refer to us as, ”So, your wife this, your husband that.” We’ve stopped correcting everybody. It’s not a big intentional thing not to marry. We immediately were a family when we became a couple, and children were the priority, and we’re both legally committed to the children. And that seemed to be the right thing.”

How will they ever appreciate that?? But, of course, if you are Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, you will spare no expense when it comes to the nursery of your much-anticipated twins. In fact, the expecting celebrity parents have reportedly spent $140,000 to create the twins’ nursery! Brad and the very pregnant Angelina apparently bought most of the essentials at chic Los Angeles baby store, Petit Tresor. Some of the luxury items the twins will enjoy include organza bassinets for $800, Versailles-style cribs for $3,200, and armoires for $4,500 each.

The twins will also enjoy two pink crystal chandeliers, which set back the couple almost $900 for each of the sparkling light fixtures. WOW! I’m pretty sure the girls will love the pink hue, hehe! Even the toys were high-end — Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie picked up a few baby toys made out of cashmere. Wow, cashmere! I never even had touch one in my entire life, LOL! Their large purchase reportedly took a team of three employees from the store to assemble. Oh well, if you have the money.. =)

Last week, a major celebrity site reported that Angelina Jolie gave birth to twins. However, this was refuted by Brad Pitt’s camp and now, the actress’ legal camp at the Los Angeles firm Lavely & Singer has reportedly circulated a letter to various media outlets warning of an impostor who’s been dishing out erroneous info under the guise of Angelina Jolie’s longtime assistant, Holly Goline (who’s also pregnant!). The letter read,

“A random individual has engaged in a scheme to intentionally harm my client and deceive her fans, the public and the media through illegal and tortuous impersonation of Ms. Jolie’s longtime assistant, Holly … The individual who claims to be, and to whom the media has relied upon as, a ‘reliable source’ is not my client’s assistant, nor does the email address belong to my client’s assistant.”

This should serve as a warning to all tabloids and websites reporting amazing “exclusives”. PLEASE GUYS, check and double check your sources! For sure, Angelina Jolie is NOT thrilled with what you’re dishing out!
